Construction companies E & G OÜ/AS Pärnu REV have won tender procedures for Victoria bastion reconstruction; contract was signed at the end of February. Total budget of the construction works is 2 909 582 EUR including VAT. In the framework of reconstruction and restoration, strengthening and conservation of Victoria bastion and curtain will be implemented, Welcome centre in Powder cellar of the curtain established. Arrangement of paths and green spaces as well as outdoor lighting system and installation of small forms will also be done.
Construction works must be completed by August 30, 2014. During the construction works Victoria bastion external walls and casemate will be restorated; drainage works in Dark Garden implemented. Main part of excavation works related to bastion drainage construction and Power cellar reconstruction will be carried out during this summer. To ensure safety we pay the attention of the citizens that stay on the construction site is prohibited. We strongly recommend the citizens to walk in other city parks and recreation areas during the period of construction works in Dark Garden. Construction works are implemented in the framework of international Large Scale Project „Development of the unique Narva-Ivangorod fortresses ensemble as a single cultural and tourist object”, which is financed by Estonia-Latvia-Russia cross-border cooperation Programme within European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI) 2007-2013. Total budget of the project is 6,9 mln. EUR. Programme co-financing is 6,2 mln. EUR including co-financing from the State Budget of Estonia 1,8 mln. EUR. Department for City Development and Economy is implementing project together with a partner from Russia – „Museum Agency” Leningradskaya Oblast State Budget Institution of Culture.
