The project is implemented by Narva City Government, Department for City Development and Economy and the partner from Russia – „Museum Agency” Leningradskaya Oblast State Budget Institution of Culture.
Participants of the meeting discussed the upcoming project activities, met with the members of the Steering Group and project staff, developed action-plan for the nearest period. Representatives of associated partners Narva and Ivangorod Museums, the Committee for Culture of Leningrad region actively participated in the work. Representatives of the Estonia-Latvia-Russia cross-border cooperation Programme within European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI) 2007-2013, whose financial support is 90% of the total project budget, have also attended the meeting.
Project activities are concentrated on Victoria bastion in Narva and the Small Powder Granary in Ivangorod. At present project staff from both, Estonian and Russian, sides are actively preparing procurement procedures for construction works. Main procurements will be announced already in September. Construction works should begin in spring 2013 and be completed in autumn 2014 alongside with promotional events for opening of new tourist attractions. Furthermore, in the framework of the project guides and museum staff in Narva and Ivangorod will be trained, a new tourist product brand and web pages will be created, informational materials will be produced to promote new tourist products on the market.
The overall objective of the project is the development of Narva-Ivangorod cross-border region tourism infrastructure through reconstruction of fortresses ensemble and improve accessibility of tourism information.
Total budget of the project is about 6,9 mln.EUR. Programme co-financing is about 6,2 mln. EUR including co-financing from the State Budget of Estonia 1,8 mln. EUR. Narva contribution into the project is 347 146 EUR. Russian partner contribution is 340 000 EUR. Duration of the project is 33 months.
